IKI – International Keio Institute for Architecture and Urbanism – was initiated and established in 2O1O, by three Keio academics, Professors Kazuyo Sejima (IKI Design Director), Darko Radović (IKI International Director) and Hiroto Kobayashi (IKI Managing Director), with generous support of Professor Kouhei Ohnishi (IKI Engineering Director).
IKI was conceived as a platform for various research and design-research, with an aim to bring together best institutions and individual s in the field of architecture and urbanism and facilitate cross fertilisation of their creative and research efforts. Institute build upon strong interdisciplinary tradition of Keio and resources in all Keio departments which are traditionally associated with architecture and urban design, ranging from sciences/technology to humanities
IKI was launched on 29 August 2O1O, at the Venice Biennale.
